Dream camp at Manchester United Soccer School

Mumbai, Maharashtra, August 5, 2010 Steadfast U16 boys participated in the training camp organized by Manchester United Soccer School from 25th to 30th July 2010.  Over 240 Children from different countries trained at the hugely popular residential facility in the heart of the English countryside. Players enjoyed the ultimate six day experience living, training and playing like the youth players at Manchester United. The fantastic course gave each player a fascinating insight into how Manchester United prepares their youngsters enabling them to reach their optimum level of performance.

It was an intensive course designed to take the players to the next level by improving their technique but also developing their understanding of team shape, defensive responsibilities and attacking principles using the Manchester United philosophy. Each power packed day spanned over, six hours of training, seminar, other activities like Swimming, Tennis etc and Skill contest. Steadfast boy Wing Choi came 2nd in the skill contest, the MUSS coaches were impressed with the talent from Steadfast Academy.

The highlight of this camp was the closing ceremony inside the world famous Theatres of Dream - The Old Trafford stadium, the participants got opportunities to go behind the scenes at the clubhouse as well as witnessing the state of art performance center, and gymnasium and

player’s dressing of this astounding stadium. Each participant on receiving the medals from the officials collectively agreed that “it was dream come true for all them”. The Steadfast Coach George Lawrence accompanying the campers too impressed the officials with his training skills and was also awarded a medal as recognition.
The football culture confluence at the camp has surely been imbibed by the players and  maintaining the consistency is a challenge which Steadfast is geared up to take on.
Football Injury and Preventation Management

The Football Injury and Prevention Management seminar an INJURY FREE SPORTS initiative by Steadfast Sports and Adventure Academy (SSAA) provided information on understanding of injuries, treatment and prevention, was a success with more than 200 Players, Parents & Coaches attending the seminar held on 11th July 2010 at St. Andrews School, Bandra, Mumbai.
At the seminar, Dennis, Mentor SSAA, emphasized the reason of this initiative and importance of parental participation. Dr. Sandeep Kurale - Sports Physiotherapist who is associated with the Indian Football at the highest level presented the Parental role in understanding Injuries, corrective and preventive measures.The parents who had turned up in large numbers were an indicator of concern for their Childs health, which they voiced in the Q&A session.
The Chief guest for the occasion Mr. Godfrey Pereira - former Indian Captain of Indian Football and currently associated with Air India FC, Mr Xaviera Faria - Secretary football MSSA, Mr. Karim - Ex Khalsa hockey team Coach & Sybil Miranda - Ex Captian, Air India hockey team shared their experience on the importance of INJURY FREE SPORTS life.

much needed awareness through this initiative and was certain that it will strengthen Indian Football. Mr. Vinod Nalawade, Director of SSAA wished the future Rooney's, Kaka's, Mesi's, Ronaldo's and Muller's a safe football season.
The star SSAA football performers for 2009-10 were felicited for their performance in the Maharashtra State team and U15 Manchester United Cup Zonals.

SSAA Star Wing Choi wins Live the David Beckham Skill Contest

Live the David Beckham skill contest reached its spectacular grand finale on 31st January at the St Andrews ground, Bandra (W). Over 100 preliminary winners, from all over Mumbai, slugged it out for the multiple skills related to passing, dribbling, juggling and shooting on this super Sunday. The eventual winner Wing Choy Chen from City International School reigned supreme at the end of the event. He was presented with official world cup 2010 football JABULANI by the guest of honor Viren Rasquinha and Marc Robinson. The event was hosted by Triumph sports in association with Steadfast sports & adventure academy.
